It's been almost a year since the last post, so I thought it best to start slowly ... particularly since I'm currently on a brief European tour. (I'll post more about that, including an excellent workshop on scientific images sponsored by the CNRS, later.)
I'll be back in the Lehigh Valley in early July. Until then, I'll post -- if at all -- sporadically. But in honor of the World Cup, here's a review (in Germany's Die Welt) of Pele's new album, "Ginga." As the reviewer Michael Pilz notes, Pele's achievement is surprisingly good, particularly given the track record of other kickers, like Franz Beckenbauer or Berti Vogts, who've tried their luck at singing, if that, in their case, is the most apt description of what it was that they were doing.
